The Secretary-General would be glad to be informed

What laws or administrative measures are in operation for limiting this evil if it exists in your country.

What statistics are available showing the number of prosecutions in each of your Colonies or Dependencies

of persons procuring these women.

CHILDREN.

(Reports have been received that the practice in certain

Colonies of adopting, pawning or bartering children is in existence

and that these children are obtained for immoral as well as for

industrial purposes.)

The Secretary-General of the League of Nations would be

glad to be informed what laws or administrative measures are in

operation to secure the abolition of this Traffic or to limit it if

it is in existence.

The information to be gathered from this questionnaire

will be indispensable to the International Conference on Traffic

in Women and Children, which, according to the Resolution of the

Assembly of 1920, the Council is invited to convene before the next

Assembly of the League of Nations in September, 1921.

It is hoped that it may be possible to arrange to hold this

Conference in June next. In view, therefore, of the short period pre-

ceding the meeting of this Conference, it would be greatly appreciated if the replies to the questionnaire, together with all relative documents in French or English, could be sent with the least possible delay, so as to enable the Secretariat of the League of Nations to perform the necessary preparatory work before the Conference meets.
